Chaya-Leaf Infusion

A green-leaf drink experiment inspired by a plant with a place in Mexican food culture.

My “matcha of Mexico”

The personal inspiration

I developed a chaya-leaf drink experiment that I call the “matcha of Mexico”. The name expresses my personal connection to a green Mexican ingredient; it does not mean that chaya is matcha tea or has the same composition or effects.

What is currently recorded

This entry records my own account of the drink idea. A weighed formulation, cooking record and food-safety assessment are not part of the published evidence at this stage.

Questions guiding the next stage

  • How can plant identification, sourcing and processing be documented reliably?
  • What cooking process and food-safety review would be needed for this particular preparation?
  • How can I describe its cultural inspiration without making unsupported nutritional or health comparisons?

Notebook entry compiled October 2026 from Maria’s account and the records identified above. Dates of original experiments are only listed when recorded.
